Parents Warned: JAMB Issues Final Directives to CBT Centres As 2024 UTME Begins Today

During the final briefing of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre owners for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) instructed owners to detain any parents found near their facilities during the exam.
Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, issued this directive, emphasizing that intruding parents have been known to facilitate exam infractions or disrupt exams. Some individuals even disguise themselves as parents to gain unauthorized access to CBT centres.
Oloyede also mentioned that according to the national policy on education, UTME candidates must be at least 17 years old. The 2024 UTME is scheduled to take place in over 700 CBT centres nationwide.
