The Faculty of Management Sciences of the University of Science and Technology, (DSUST), Ozoro, Delta state, will commence operations at the Orerokpe Technical College, Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area. This decision was revealed by the Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, following an inspection of the construction progress at the Orerokpe facility.
Governor Oborevwori stated that the Ministry of Technical Education would transfer the completed facilities at the Orerokpe Technical College to the Ministry of Higher Education to facilitate the smooth commencement of the Faculty of Management Sciences.
He explained, “Recently, the Governing Council of the University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, approved the Faculty of Management Sciences here in Orerokpe. The site that was proposed for the faculty is the Orerokpe Technical College that is under construction."
The governor highlighted the state's commitment to expanding access to higher education, noting that the Delta State University, Abraka, could not accommodate all qualified applicants from Delta State. Therefore, the state government decided to establish three additional universities alongside the existing Delta State University.
Governor Oborevwori expressed pride in the state's educational development initiatives and emphasized the importance of education in personal success. He also mentioned that several projects at the Orerokpe campus are scheduled for completion by October this year.
