The Bavarian School of Public Policy (BSPP) at the Technical University of Munich / TUM School of Governance (TUM GOV) is pleased to offer Visiting Post-Doc Fellowship in Global Transformations for 2017-2018 academic year. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

This fellowship aims to enable outstanding scholars at any postdoctoral stage of their career to focus on researching political and/or policy-relevant aspects of such major transformations.

The Technical University of Munich is a research university with campuses in Munich, Garching and Freising-Weihenstephan. It is a member of TU9, an incorporated society of the largest and most notable German institutes of technology.

Course Level: Fellowships are available to pursue postdoctoral programme.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in Global Transformations. BSPP/TUM GOV invites applications from candidates from any relevant discipline, including political science, public policy/administration, history, economics, business/management studies, sociology, cognitive psychology, philosophy, communications, computational science, environmental studies, law and engineering.

Scholarship Award: The selected fellow will be employed at TUM and offered a salary (E13/E14 TV-L, depending on the qualification) for the duration of the fellowship. Fellows will be expected to teach one course related to their research, aimed at students in our new Master of Science in “Politics & Technology” program and to take an active part in the intellectual activities of the BSPP/TUM GOV.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Applications are welcome from scholars coming from outside the Technical University of Munich at any post-doctoral stage of their career. Applicants are required to hold a PhD or equivalent degree at the time of application.

Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants are required to hold a PhD or equivalent degree at the time of application.
English language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

How to Apply: To apply, please send the following materials to fellowship-at-hfp.tum.de before the end of the day (CET) on Wednesday, June 15, 2017:

Cover letter explaining the motivation for the application
Current curriculum vitae (with a maximum of 10 pages, including a list of major publications
A research proposal of no more than 3,000 words. Where applicable, this should include plans for collaborations with members of the host institution, BSPP/TUM-GOV
A short teaching proposal
A journal article length writing sample
Candidates who already hold positions at academic institutions will also be required to submit:
A statement about their home institution’s policy with regard to sabbatical pay.
