Students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) secured both the first and second-place positions at the second TPL Olutoyin Ayinde Urban Design Competition. Organised by the Young Planners Forum of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, the event challenged students from various tertiary institutions in Lagos State to develop innovative solutions for modern urban development issues.

The winning team, led by Odele Quadri, was recognised for a creative and practical design proposal, while a second UNILAG team led by Gbande David took the runner-up spot. Lagos State University of Science and Technology followed in third place. The awards were presented at the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, with university officials noting that the achievement highlights the institution's success in preparing students to solve real-world urban challenges.
