JAMB Withholds UTME Results of 64,624 Candidates, Gives Reasons

The 2024 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) results were released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, April 29. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, made the announcement at a press conference in Abuja's Bwari area. Out of the 1,904,189 candidates who took the examination, 64,624 results were withheld for further investigation. Oloyede revealed that a total of 1,989,668 candidates registered for the exam, with 80,810 candidates being absent. He noted that 1,904,189 candidates actually sat for the UTME within the six-day examination period. The withheld results were subjected to scrutiny due to reasons such as verification, alleged examination misconduct, procedural investigation of candidates, and centre-based investigation.
