The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo, has dismissed concerns that the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (Al) will lead to job losses in Nigeria. He stated that Al is an emerging market that will revolutionize critical sectors, leading to an increase in job creation and tackling joblessness, especially among the youth. Prof. Fakolujo, who spoke during a media briefing for the institution's 16th convocation ceremony, advocated for people to retrain in digital skills to adapt to the new age, comparing the current fears to those that accompanied the advent of the computer age in the 20th century.
