The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the registration period for the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) candidates by two weeks. This extension aims to accommodate all candidates interested in DE registration.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB Public Communication Advisor, announced this development in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja. He explained that the registration deadline has been moved from Wednesday, 28th March, 2024, to Thursday, 11th April, 2024.

The decision to extend the registration period was made in response to challenges faced by candidates in completing the security screening measures designed to detect fake A’level certificates. The Board is determined to prevent candidates with dubiously acquired certificates from benefiting from the registration process.

Despite the extension, JAMB emphasizes that candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions are among those that have not verified their certificates will not be allowed to register without fulfilling the verification requirements.

JAMB assures prospective DE candidates that the registration process will be made more user-friendly in the future. The Board plans to hold a press conference soon to provide further details to the media.
