JAMB Sets First Quarter of 2026 for Commencement of UTME Registration

Dec 30, 2025  JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will begin in the first quarter of 2026. The board confirmed that it has finalized all preparatory processes, including the accreditation and security validation of centers and personnel, to ensure a seamless and transparent exercise.
According to the board's latest bulletin, the upcoming registration process will incorporate technological and operational upgrades informed by lessons learned from the 2025 UTME. These improvements aim to curb sophisticated malpractice such as biometric fraud and AI-assisted impersonation. JAMB also issued a stern warning against examination infractions, noting that over 30 suspects from previous sessions are currently being prosecuted, with many already in custody. Candidates are advised that official application documents will be released early in the year.
