WAEC Announces Readiness for CB-WASSCE 2024, Approves Participation of 8,285 Candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) affirms its readiness to conduct the inaugural Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates from January 31 to February 17, 2024, across Nigeria.The Head of National Office, Dr. Amos Josiah Dangut, conveyed this information during a press briefing in Lagos. Dangut emphasized the meticulous preparation, including training officials, inspecting CBT centers, and providing essential facilities. The exam, involving 8,285 candidates (3,949 male, 4,336 female), will be delivered in a hybrid mode, with results expected 45 days after the last paper.
Despite initial resistance, WAEC remains committed to innovative assessment methods. Dangut wished candidates success, acknowledging the support of education sector stakeholders.
