FG calls for safe, unconditional release of abducted Kaduna school children

The abduction of over 287 students and teachers from primary and secondary schools in Kuriga village, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state has left the federal government in shock. Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, SAN, alongside Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, expressed deep concern and called for the safe and unconditional release of the abducted children and teachers unharmed.

Describing the incident as one kidnapping too many, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Education is collaborating with security agencies to end such heinous activities, especially under the Safe School project of the Federal Government. He urged Nigerians to pray for the safe release of the innocent children and their teachers, suggesting that Christians use the Lenten season as an opportunity to remember the victims in their prayers.

Expressing hope for the swift return of the abducted individuals, Mamman assured that efforts are being made to ensure their safe release. He appealed to the relevant authorities to prioritize the rescue operation and reunite the children with their families and schools as soon as possible.
