2023 UTME: JAMB EXTENDS DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION BEYOND UTME, CENSUS

The deadline for 2023 Direct Entry (DE) admission into universities across the country has been extended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). According to a statement by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Public Affairs/Protocol Unit, the registration will continue after the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and national population and housing census. The UTME will take place from April 25 to May 3, while the census will begin on May 3 and end on May 5.

The DE registration was initially set to close on April 20 but has been extended by one week. The registration will now continue on May 6, after the UTME and census have been completed. Candidates have been advised to obtain their DE ePINs from designated vending outlets before April 30 and complete their registration at the Board's offices between April 6 and May 13. 

The Board has assured all candidates that they will be given the opportunity to register, provided they adhere to the Board's directives and within the allotted time. The Board has also put in place innovative measures to prevent falsification of results and other forms of misconduct.
